CLC Contractual Best Practice Guidance
The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has issued best practice guidance for contracts during COVID-19. The guidance provide examples of the types of issues that are likely to arise, together with practical advice on how to resolve them in a constructive manner. They are supported by government.
A New Normal in Contractual Practice
Build UK has published guidance on A New Normal in Contractual Practice which details why certain terms should be avoided and sets out how to manage issues more effectively and ensure a fairer allocation of risk. The guidance was updated on 5 February to include JCT contracts.
Wedlake Bell Contractual Guidance
There is now specific guidance available for CONSTRUCT members to access on the contractual issues that are arising because of COVID-19. This guidance has been commissioned by Build UK and produced by Wedlake Bell, and covers force majeure and frustration, variations, pandemic clauses and more.
