Committees
CONSTRUCT runs a number of Committees for members to get involved in, that help shape policy, guidance or provide updates on the latest changes. Our Committees include:
-
Sustainability Forum
Set up at the end of 2022, the Sustainability forum aims to support members through collaboration across membership looking at issues being faced by us all and finding solutions to the moral dilemmas as well as looking at ways to comply with legislation and government goals. As sustainability affects us all ensure you have a member of your team on the distribution list.
-
Health, Safety & Environment Committee
Our HS&E Committee is open to all members, with regular presentations and updates on the latest best practice, and acts as a confidential forum for members to troubleshoot any issues they may have on their own projects.
-
Concrete Frame Training Forum (CFTF)
The CFTF brings together the lead training contacts within our contractor members, and helps develop and deliver concrete-specific training, provides guidance on funding and grants, promotes careers in the sector and provides a voice for members to CITB and Government on training & skills issues. Find out more on the CFTF Page.
-
Groundworks Committee
Newly set up in 2021, the Groundworks Committee will look to support members in this area of activity with guidance, training, alerts, lobbying and more. If you are involved with Groundworks, either from a contractor, or a supplier perspective, ensure you have a member of your team on the distribution list.
-
Formworks Suppliers Group
The FSG is a committee made up of the supplier members within CONSTRUCT membership who produce or supply for formwork to contractors. The group has produced a range of guidance and developed training and training standards to support contractors.
-
Ad-hoc Sub-Committees
We also convene sub-committees that help shape guidance documentation, standards etc. These currently include the development of Formwork Training Standards, Edge Protection Guidance, Form-Ties Guidance, Temporary Works (Concrete Specialist) Training Standards.
