Fantastic Turn Out for Peter Campbell Lecture

Thank you to all those who attended the CONSTRUCT Peter Campbell Sustainability Lecture at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), One Great George Street. Peter was the inaugural Chairman of CONSTRUCT Concrete Structures Group from 1993 to 1996. This was the first lecture since Peter’s passing and aimed to be a fitting celebration of his life and career.

There were 150 attendees including VIP guest Amy Campbell, Peter’s granddaughter as well as members of Peter’s organisation CampbellReith.

Thank you to Patrick Boyle, Director of MPB STRUCTURES and Council member of CONSTRUCT for chairing the event.

Thank you to the 3 excellent speakers:

1.     Piers Clanford, Chair of St George PLC & Berkeley Group Plc, St Joseph – A client’s perspective on reducing carbon.

2.     Glen Rust, R&D Engineering Leader at Laing O’Rourke – The practice of using low-carbon concrete.

3.    Tony Wilson, Technical Director at Breedon Group plc – Producing low-carbon concrete.

We were also delighted to raise money for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and would like to thank Lorraine Shepherd for attending and representing the charity.
