On the 29th of March Ian Burnett, CONSTRUCT General Manager and Group Training Officer attended the CITB Group Training Officer meeting. CITB confirmed Grant increases from 1st April 2023 levy grants and funding for small and micro sized businesses :
CITB-registered employers can apply for funding related to how many direct employees they have:
- Employers with CIS only (no PAYE) can receive up to £2,500.
- Employers with 1 to 49 directly employed staff can receive up to £5,000.
- Employers with 50 to 74 directly employed staff can receive up to £7,500.
- Employers with 75 to 99 directly employed staff can receive up to £10,000.
Levy grants and funding for medium sized businesses
CITB-registered employers can apply for funding related to how many direct employees they have.
- Employers with between 100 and 149 directly-employed staff can receive up to £15,000.
- Employers with between 150 and 199 directly-employed staff can receive up to £20,000.
- Employers with between 200 and 250 directly-employed staff can receive up to £25,000.
CONSTRUCT member The Skills Centre were confirmed as one of the 12 Onsite Experience Hubs across England and Wales. CITB are promoting the hubs as they can:
- Source candidates for company vacancies based on their specification.
- Allow organisations to trial people before deciding to recruit them
- Provide an effective Apprenticeship selection method.
- Remove a lot of the initial risk and cost associated with recruiting a new employee.
