CONSTRUCT and its membership have lobbied CITB and GoConstruct to ensure concrete sector salaries reflect the current wages being achieved by formworkers, steelfixers and groundworkers etc.
GoConstruct has updated their website to show more realistic wages that can be achieved by formworkers. The concrete frame and groundworks sector needs to attract talent to the industry to help support our membership fulfil their workforce requirements. When new entrants see that there is the potential to earn £65,000 for experienced formworkers they will be more likely to enter the industry.
Attracting new entrants can also be improved by providing them with information on their potential career path. CONSTRUCT has produced a Reinforced Concrete frame and groundworks skills pathway booklet which explains an outline of skills requirements, qualifications and apprenticeship route options while demonstrating the potential for career progression within the concrete frame and groundwork Sector.
