CONSTRUCT Responds to Government Consultation on 16–19 Education

CONSTRUCT has recently worked closely with our members and a range of interested third parties to respond to the Government’s consultation on 16–19 Level 3 and below provision.

Through our online submission, we addressed the questions set out in the consultation and strongly urged the Government to reconsider key elements of the proposed changes. We emphasised the need for closer engagement with employers and sector bodies and highlighted the importance of ensuring that any future system genuinely supports construction education, skills development, and long-term economic growth.

In addition to the consultation response, CONSTRUCT contacted Sir Keir Starmer via his online submission system. This was supported by a formal covering letter to The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, further outlining our concerns regarding the Post-16 Level 3 and Below Pathway Consultation and its potential impact on the construction sector.

As a trade association, it is vital that the voices of employers and the wider construction industry are heard. CONSTRUCT will continue to represent our members’ views and advocate for an education and skills system that delivers real value for learners, employers, and the industry as a whole.
