This document provides guidance on the tethering of formwork and falsework materials during assembly and dismantling to prevent them from accidentally falling or being dropped.
Tethering involves attaching materials to either the operative using them or, in the case of heavier materials, to a fixed anchor point. A typical tethering system will have three parts: the tether point on the product itself, a lanyard, and an anchor point. The applicable regulation is, The Work at Height Regulations 2005.
