Peter Campbell

Following retirement from his practice, Peter was approached by the British Cement Association to act as the inaugural Chairman of CONSTRUCT Concrete Structures Group. He served with great vigour from 1993 to 1996 and then served a further three years as Honorary President.

To mark Peter’s valuable contribution to CONSTRUCT, it was agreed to stage a Biennial Lecture in his name. In memory of Peter this will be the first lecture since his passing and aims to be a fitting celebration of his life and career.

Lecture

As we move towards a net zero carbon built environment, the concrete industry is working to reduce the embodied carbon in concrete frames, while keeping all the benefits of concrete, such as thermal mass, longevity, robustness and inherent fire protection. Low carbon concretes are available to be specified now, but their use can have implications on the construction methods used by concrete frame contractors.
In this seminar we will hear from the client, the contractor and the concrete producer to discover how early involvement by the contractor and concrete producer can help make the client’s requirement for low carbon buildings a reality.
