At the end of June 2025, Ian Burnett, General Manager of CONSTRUCT, visited Milbank Concrete Products Limited for an in-depth tour of their precast manufacturing facilities in Essex. The visit offered a valuable opportunity to see how one of the UK’s leading precast specialists is driving innovation while maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety, and sustainability.
During the tour, Ian was able to observe several live operations on the factory floor, where Milbank is actively integrating equipment and machinery designed to enhance safety, reduce noise levels, and minimise manual handling. From overhead gantry systems to purpose-built moulds and automated lifting solutions, every aspect of the production process is clearly geared towards protecting workers and streamlining workflows.
These practical investments in safer and more efficient working methods reflect a growing industry trend: placing equal emphasis on productivity and workforce wellbeing.
